Impresariat Simmenauer has announced the signing of Lisa Batiashvili to its roster. The Georgian-born German violinist has been previously managed by Harrison Parrott and Wiegold & Böhm for the last 27 years.
’We look forward to working with Lisa and further develop her wide-ranging career: be it on tour with orchestras, with chamber music, her commitment to the Lisa Batiashvili Foundation or her ongoing commitment to her homeland, Georgia,’ said the agency’s statement.
Batiashvili is currently artist in residence with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, where she has been performing in Berlin and abroad with Kirill Petrenko and Daniel Barenboim, members of the orchestra, as well as as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Academy.
She is an exclusive recording artist for Deutsche Grammophon. Her latest album Secret Love Letters was released in August 2022, with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and The Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as Franck Sonata with Giorgi Gigashvili.
Batiashvili recently received a European Culture Prize for her work with the Lisa Batiashvili Foundation. Formed in 2021, she created and continues to lead the organisation wich supports young, highly talented Georgian musicians to thrive in their musical careers. The award is the latest in a long list of her accolades, which include the MIDEM Classical Award, Choc de l’année, Accademia Musicale Chigiana International Prize, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival’s Leonard Bernstein Award and Beethoven-Ring.
She performs on a 1739 Guarneri ’del Gesù’ violin generously loaned by a private collector.
