In response to readers’ letters, violin pedagogue Alvin C. White tackles the difficult subject of when – if ever – someone might become too old to learn the violin
It has been with great interest that I have read the correspondence relating to the above subject during the recent issues of THE STRAD. Up to the present I have been merely a listener, but now I feel moved to add my bit, for during my twenty years of teaching, I have had a number of old beginners, and my experiences might be of some interest to the reader.
