Four in one: London Sinfonietta principal violin plays Steve Reich

Watch London Sinfonietta principal violinist Jonathan Morton perform Steve Reich’s Violin Phase. In the video, which was made by digital productions manager Adam Flynn, Morton plays all four parts simultanesouly - a rendition that Reich himself called ‘the most satisfactory version that I’ve ever heard and seen’. You can watch Reich’s interview about the performance here. The London Sinfonietta also released a ‘making-of’ clip on its Twitter page, explaining how the project came to life.
