Listen to the musicians speak about what it means to them to record their new album of Brahms quintets: the Piano Quintet op.34 in F minor and String Quintet op.111 in G major.
The musicians perform excerpts from the third movement of the Piano Quintet Scherzo, as well as the first movement of op.111 Allegro non troppo, ma con brio.
Speaking to The Strad in the June 2022 cover article, pianist Giltburg looks back fondly on his time recording with the quartet, ’We just clicked. The way they lean into every note is the same approach I take in my solo playing. Very often you just have to find a way into how a quartet works and quickly put something together. With them it’s different; I feel very much part of the group.’
