Czech violinist Pavel Šporcl performed at a drive-in concert at Prague’s Holešovice market this week. The novel performance - a new way to showcase live music making during the coronavirus pandemic - was open to audience members in a modest number of cars, who could tune into the concert via their car radios at a special frequency or with windows open. Šporcl performed works by Bach and Paganini, and his own compositions, Bohemian Nostalgia, Where Is My Home and The Prayer.
Šporcl will boradcast a live performance on Facebook this coming Friday at 8pm CEST in partnership with The Strad. On the programme will be: Bach’s Chaconne, Ysaÿe’s Sonata no. 4 first movement, Paganini Caprices nos.5, 9, 13 and 14, Šporcl’s Where Is My Homeland, and Milstein’s Paganiniana. Visit The Strad’s Facebook page to watch.
