Leonidas Kavakos has signed an exclusive recording deal with Decca Classics. The Greek violinist's first release on the label will be a set of the complete Beethoven sonatas, timed to coincide with his performance of the cycle at this summer's Salzburg Festival.
The pianist on the new recording will be Enrico Pace, who featured on Kavakos's 2009 Sony Classical disc of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor and Piano Trios nos. 1 and 2.
Kavakos will follow the Beethoven sonatas release with recordings of the Brahms Violin Concerto and the complete solo violin works of Bach.
